5K Run
Are you looking to get in shape and enjoy the great hobby of running? One of the best ways to start out jogging or running is to train for a 5 K run. 5 K or five kilometer run is a little over 3 miles and a great way to enjoy the sport of jogging.
Most people that start jogging do so to lose weight and get into shape. 5 K runs are a great way to have a goal and to train for a specific event. Usually every town or city has a 5 K run and the cost of admission only costs a few bucks. Usually large corporations sponsor the events and for most people a 5 K run usually takes about a half an hour or less to complete. There are always health professionals at the scene and lots of water and refreshments waiting at the finish line.
For most people that are out of shape it can take 2 or 3 months to prepare for a 5 K run, but it is well worth the time and preparation. Most people jog a mile or two for the first couple of weeks and then slowly increase the length and time that they jog or run. So if you are looking to get into shape, look into 5 K runs.

Yes 5k runs are excellent. I have been running in 5k's for 4 years now and it has been awesome for me.
